Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Business Development Head, you will support the founders across strategy, partnerships, and execution. Responsibilities include:
- Lead Generation & Pipeline Development: Identify, qualify, and build a pipeline of potential clients across corporates, project developers, landowners, carbon project developers, investors, and nature-finance stakeholders.
- Client Outreach & Engagement: Conduct targeted outreach through LinkedIn, email, industry networks, conferences, and referrals to initiate business conversations.
- Lead Qualification: Understand client requirements, project context, budgets, timelines, and decision-making structures to assess business fit and opportunity potential.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Own and actively manage opportunities across different stages—from prospecting and introductory discussions to proposal, pilot, negotiation, and closure.
- Client Discovery & Requirement Gathering: Conduct discovery calls to understand client pain points around biodiversity monitoring, carbon MRV, nature risk, climate risk, and environmental reporting.
- Solution Positioning: Translate Darukaa Earth's technical capabilities into clear business value propositions tailored to different client segments and use cases.
- Proposal & Commercial Support: Coordinate with technical and leadership teams to prepare client-specific proposals, scopes of work, commercial quotations, and pilot structures.
- Follow-ups & Opportunity Conversion: Drive structured and timely follow-ups with prospects and partners to move opportunities through the BD pipeline.
- Account & Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with existing clients, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders while identifying opportunities for repeat engagements and expansion.
- Revenue & BD Tracking: Track BD KPIs including leads generated, qualified opportunities, meetings, proposals submitted, pilots initiated, conversion rates, and potential pipeline value.
- Market Feedback & Product Insights: Capture client and market feedback and communicate insights to the product, technology, and leadership teams to support product positioning and roadmap decisions.
- Industry & Event Networking: Proactively identify relevant conferences, industry forums, and networking opportunities and generate actionable business leads from participation.
Ideal Profile
- We’re looking for a high-potential builder and collaborator who is eager to learn and contribute at the intersection of strategy, climate, and nature innovation.
- Undergraduate or postgraduate student (pre-final or final year preferred), or recent graduate with a strong interest in climate, sustainability, or impact-driven businesses
- Freshers with strong aptitude are welcome; prior experience in business development, consulting, or founder’s office roles is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to think structurally and analytically, through coursework, projects, leadership roles
- Exposure to strategy, consulting, business analysis, sustainability, or product roles is a plus Curious, proactive, and comfortable working in early-stage, fast-moving environments
- Comfortable working in a digital-first environment able to effectively leverage online tools, platforms, and resources to drive outcomes and solve problems independently
- Good presentation and storytelling ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support research, presentations, and internal strategy discussions
